2nd Place at Engineers Syndicate Forum 2026 — Digital Verified Driver

Digital Verified Driver placed 2nd in Electrical Engineering at the Engineers Syndicate Innovation & Graduation Projects Forum 2026. Team, market problem, forum leaders, sponsors, and Al Shams TV interview.

Alhamdulillah — our graduation project earned 2nd Place in the Electrical Engineering Division at the Innovation & Graduation Projects Forum 2026, organized by the Engineers Syndicate.

Months of hard work, learning, teamwork, and perseverance led to this moment. The award recognizes Digital Verified Driver as a practical AI system built for real roadside conditions.

About the project

Digital Verified Driver is an edge AI graduation project shaped by a real Egyptian market problem — then extended into cabin safety for higher-risk mobility settings.

Version 1 — Eligibility, identity, and theft

In Egypt, people with disabilities can receive vehicles from abroad with customs relief at a highly subsidized cost. That support has been exploited: traders and intermediaries manipulate beneficiaries, and ineligible drivers end up using the cars. Version 1 verifies who is behind the wheel against authorized records (face + plate) to stop that misuse — and to reduce unauthorized use and vehicle theft more broadly.

The intended early customers include P2G and other sectors that need reliable roadside identity verification.

Version 2 — Ride-hailing and school protection

The stronger path targets ride-hailing platforms such as Uber, where violence and harassment during trips have become a serious concern in Egypt. The system detects violence, harassment-related events, and accidents in the cabin stream.

It also targets international schools: protecting students from harassment, violence, and suspicious behavior by deploying the system in school buses and critical campus locations.

The stack uses Raspberry Pi capture, YOLOv5, InsightFace, FastAPI, and MongoDB — with live dashboard logging, JWT roles, and alert workflows. Explore the full case study: Digital Verified Driver.
